"The Blackstone Parks Conservancy is dedicated to the preservation and stewardship of historic Blackstone Park and Boulevard."
Tell me about the Blackstone Parks Conservancy.
Following the successful completion of tree planting on the boulevard, the Friends of Blackstone Park & Boulevard changed its name to reflect its revised mission, and became a membership organization. As before, it is a 501 (3) (c) corporation.
Blackstone Parks Conservancy Membership contributions will help support our stewardship work in these two parks, working as a partner with both the Providence Parks Department and the Department of Public Works. On the boulevard, we will maintain the jogging trail, replace trees as they die of old age, and see that necessary pruning of dead wood takes place. In Blackstone Park on the Seekonk River, we will work to maintain and improve trails, finish the project at York Pond, remove invasive species, help to remove trash, and carry out numerous other necessary projects to make this park a friendly place for the pleasure of everyone.
A membership application is available for printing on this web site. We welcome your volunteer work as well as your suggestions for how to improve both parks. Your support will ensure that these important urban green spaces will be around for all to enjoy in the future.
